We buy an average of 60 new garments a year – that’s more than one a week. Each item is only worn for half as long as it was 15 years ago. Much of the clothing we buy is never worn. In fact, one study found that we use only 32% of the clothes in our wardrobes. An item of clothing is discarded after it has been worn at least four times.
It is high time to have a change in mind.
